What is your vision?
While visiting the thin air of Bolivia’s Andes Mountains, Missionary Dick Glynn pointed to a mountain. He said, “The gospel has never reached the community over that ridge before, that is where I am going next.” As a pastor, it is my vision to see people stretch their faith and conquer their mountains. We all have mountains in our lives where the gospel message has yet to reach and transform. In some there are jagged slopes of carnal weaknesses waiting to be conquered and still others, peaks of faith yet to be harnessed by God. Our mountains may be restoring a broken marriage, or just figuring out how to love an unruly teenager. It may be a bad habit or the guilt of past failures. It may be the challenge of accepting God’s calling, to go to an un-reached people’s group on the mission field or simply picking up a musical instrument and playing it for God’s glory. Whatever the mountain, God will do for you just as He did for Caleb who cried, “give me this mountain”. Like Caleb, let us wholly follow the Lord and get our mountain. If we will do this, individuals will be touched, our community changed, our nation transformed and the world a better place.
