On a night in which temperatures were plummeting into the teens, the weatherman reminded his audience to keep their faucets dripping. He reasoned, “Moving water cannot freeze.”

Does your Christian faith ever seem like it is frozen? Has the warmth of Christ’s love and forgiveness chilled to the point of feeling nothing?

The Bible says, “faith without works is dead” (James 2:20). The best way to defrost your faith is to obey God in spite of feelings. Read the Bible, attend church, do something nice for someone else. Discipline your mind to believe in God’s love, spend quiet moments praying and worshipping Jesus Christ for His forgiveness. As you keep your faith active, your soul will begin to thaw and you will again feel the warmth of God.
