I have never met anyone who did not want to be loved and be able to love someone else. But how does one experience true love? Presently, society’s divorce rate seems to offer little hope of finding genuine love. Therefore people often choose to live together without commitment.

The Bible says, “God is love …” (1 John 4:16). Knowing God is the foundation of love. If you cannot love God who is perfect, kind, and faithful, then how can you love someone who is less than perfect, sometimes rude and unfaithful?

Real love begins with God. The Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God loves you and when you love Him first and foremost, you will be able to love others as well.
