Repentance PDF Print E-mail

A sign in a math class declares, “An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it.” The teacher’s mercy is greatly appreciated by the student desiring a better grade. The Bible says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has [God] removed our transgressions from us. He remembers that we are dust” (Psalm 103:12 & 14b).

So how does one receive God’s mercy? Webster’s dictionary defines repentance this way, “to feel remorse or regret … to change one’s mind concerning past behavior.” And the Bible says, “If we confess our sins, [Jesus] is faithful … to forgive us … [and] cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Remember, “A mistake is not an error until you refuse to correct it.”
